Mark Dunn
Councillor Member

Elected to WSCC in 1998, for the Bourne Division, Mark has served as Cabinet Member for Social & Caring Services. He is currently Cabinet Member for Children's Services. He has been a member of Chichester Harbour Conservancy and the South Downs Conservation Board, and currently sits on the Environment Agency's Regional Environment Protection Advisory Committee. Before retiring from full time work, Mark worked as a management consultant and insurance agent, he has lived and worked in The USA, The Far East and Australia. Married, he remains a Director of several private insurance businesses, and has six children and fourteen grandchildren, Mark is a keen countryman and devotes much of his spare time to walking and working in the woods.

Mark was first appointed to the Police Authority in 1999 and was the Chairman from 2003-2005. He is a member of the Planning and Performance Steering Group, the Chief Officers' Appointments and Remuneration Committee, the Corporate Governance Committee and the Complaints Committee. Mark also has Divisional interest in the policing of Gatwick and has Lead Member responsibilities for Anti Terrorism and Security and Children (supporting Mrs Carole Shaves). Mark represents the Authority on the West Sussex Local Strategic Partnership, the West Sussex Children's Trust Management Board and the West Sussex Partnership Board.
