Dr Laurie Bush
Vice-Chairman of the Police Authority

Dr Laurie Bush has dedicated his career to working with children with special needs. His last post was as Head Teacher of Inglesea EBD day school in St. Leonards. Laurie gained his teachers' certificate from Brighton College of Education, and has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Sussex and a Philosophy Doctorate from the University of Birmingham. He is a lay member of both the Employment Tribunals and the Mental Health Review Tribunals and a former non-executive director of Hastings and Rother NHS Trust and East Sussex County Healthcare NHS Trust. Laurie is Treasurer of Hastings Charities Association, and enjoys tennis, sailing and skiing.

Laurie was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Authority in June 2007.
