Welcome to the Sussex Police Authority website. The site explains the different elements of our work, provides up to date information about our policies and plans and brings you the latest news from the Authority. You can also download many of our documents and papers.

Sussex Police Authority is an independent body which oversees Sussex Police. The Authority consults across Sussex to find out people's views about policing and takes these into account when setting its budget and objectives.

Please visit us regularly to find out what is going on and to take part in our various consultation exercises which take place throughout the year or click here to contact us.

Sussex Police Authority meetings are web cast using facilities provided by East Sussex County Council.

The Policing Pledge
Sussex Police Authority fully supports the Chief Constable's commitment outlined in the Serving Sussex pledge and feels it reflects very well the priorities for policing the County that the Authority has championed over a number of years. The Authority, on behalf of all residents in Sussex, will continue to monitor the performance of the Force in delivering these key measures of service that the public expects and deserves, through our day-by-day engagement with Sussex Police and particularly through our public scrutiny committees. Neighbourhood Watch Strategy
Sussex Police's Neigbourhood Watch Strategy sets out the model for how the Force works in partnership with NW. It highlights current strategic issues that need to be addressed and how the new model will seek to address these, making a more effective partnership. It highlights the change will be incremental, rather than a step change approach, setting out changes in structure, working practices and communication which will be necessary.
